About Borough Care

Borough Care is Stockport's leading provider of Care Homes for Older People.

Borough Care Limited is a not-for-profit organisation based in Stockport, providing safe and comfortable Care Homes for older and disabled people.

Established in 1993, we now have 12 care homes throughout the Stockport area. Most of our homes provide facilities for people with more serious physical and mental disabilities.

The Company won the prestigious Duke of Westminster's Award for Business Excellence in the not-for-profit sector in 2000. The company achieved the "Investor in People" standard in 1997 and is regularly inspected to ensure that the standard is still being met. Excerpts from the latest inspection can be seen in the staff area.

All our care homes are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who regularly visit and provide reports on the homes. Reports are available from the Commission, the care home, or via links on our website. In line with standard regulations, we constantly provide the highest levels of care and this is highlighted by our continuous achievements of two and three-star ratings across the homes. The ratings from zero-stars to three-stars reflect how well each home has scored against the national minimum standards set out by Care Quality Commission.

We not only provide a permanent home, but many care homes offer short stays to help people over a difficult period, for example, when carers are unwell or on holiday.

Some homes are contracted with Local Health and Social Services to provide Intermediate Care services, which prevent unnecessary hospital admission, or facilitate discharge.

Most homes also welcome, on a daily basis, people who return to their own, or a relative's home at night.

We place a high value on training for staff, and provide regular training courses in-house, as well as encouraging and supporting staff at all levels to obtain national qualifications.
