Overview:

Bruce Lodge is a new care home built by Borough Care on the site of the former Vernon House. It is set along the beautiful and tranquil woodland setting of Vernon Park in the heart of Stockport, Cheshire.

The flagship Bruce Lodge is a 43 room, purpose-designed home for older people with dementia and other mental impairments. It uses light and colour and access to the outdoors to create a bright and stimulating environment for residents.

All 43 rooms have en-suite shower rooms with WC, and benefit from comfortable facilities and modern, restful décor. There are a number of lounges and dining areas; those on the ground floor open into the garden. There are small visitors' kitchen areas on each floor where residents can go with their families to make a drink.

There are spacious public areas, including an attractive atrium and a safe, enclosed garden with lawns, well-stocked flower beds and many places to sit and relax.

Bruce Lodge aims to provide a homely atmosphere with flexible mealtimes and home cooked food. Every attention is paid to the wellbeing, dignity and care of residents.

We provide stimulation to residents, with outings and activity programmes planned on a regular basis. This year we even took a small group of residents on holiday.

Individual activity plans ensure that people do the things they enjoy - everyone can do as much or as little as they like.

At Bruce Lodge we welcome families and friends and encourage them to become involved in the life of the home and of their family members, and we are fortunate to have a number of visitors who regularly get involved in activities and events.

Despite its peaceful location, Bruce Lodge is at the heart of the Stockport community and is easily accessible by road and public transport, and there is a car and bicycle park on site.
