Overview:
Cawood House is a purpose built care home, situated on the Brinnington estate close to Brinnington station.
The home has been refurbished and extended and provides comfortable and homely accommodation for 41 people. All rooms are single rooms, though one can be used as a double room if that is requested. 8 rooms have en-suite toilet facilities.
There are a number of lounges and dining areas, and a pretty and safe garden area where residents are encouraged to spend time in the better weather.
Cawood is a specialist home caring for people who suffer from dementia. In our care planning we try to emphasise what people can still do for themselves, and ensure that they can exercise choice in their daily living so far as they are able. We welcome the involvement of families and friends and make them welcome in the home.
We are constantly trying to find ways of improving our service and enhancing the quality of life of our residents. We are in the process of improving our signage to assist people in finding their way around the building, and are in the process of setting up a sensory area to provide a calm but interesting place for people to sit.
Training of staff is given a high priority.
The home welcomes comments and suggestions from people who use the services, families and friends.
As well as caring for permanent residents, we support carers in the community by providing a service for people who need day care and/or short stays. If you are interested in any of our services you are welcome to call and talk with a member of our senior team who will arrange to show you around Cawood House.
