We are led by a strong, committed Executive Team whose vision is to continually improve the quality of life for the people in our care. You can read out latest Annual Review here.
Mark joined the team in 2017. Previously working with OnSide Youth Zones, where he headed up the delivery of a national network of 21st Century youth facilities. He also brings with him a wealth of experience in the voluntary and care sectors, including Chief Executive roles at Groundwork Manchester and the Deafness Support Network. In his spare time Mark loves to watch his favourite football team, Everton, but you might not want to go head to head with him as he’s a black belt in karate and trains regularly with his son Alfie.
Julie joined the Borough Care team in December 2020 and has brought with her over 30 years’ experience of working in the Health and Social Care sector. During her career she has held post in several senior management positions, which includes Regional Manager roles, as an Inspector and as Quality and Compliance Manager. One of Julies many strengths is her strategic knowledge of working with different organisations, service users and working in multi-disciplinary teams. Julie also has in depth knowledge and experience of regulations, compliance, quality assurance and governance.
As well as having a passion for making care services for older people a place where residents can live their lives to the full and enjoy every day, Julie loves to spend her downtime outside, embracing nature, camping, walking and wildlife photography!
Head of HR
With over 13 years’ experience in HR, spanning a wide range of sectors including digital, creative, retail and finance, we were thrilled when Jayne joined the Borough Care Team as Head of HR in the summer of 2018. Her passion for effecting positive behaviour change and creating an open and communicative culture is a perfect fit with Borough Care. Jayne likes to unwind with a run, she also loves live music, often going to gigs in her spare time.
Head of Finance
As Head of Finance, Nick Pennell certainly has a head for figures, having previously worked for accounting giant KPMG as their Deputy Finance Director of Learning Services. Joining us in the autumn of 2019, he is responsible for managing our finance team, updating our financial processes and capabilities, and helping us to improve efficiency, through the introduction of new technology and systems. Outside of work, Nick loves to spend time in the garden of his home in Peak District, especially when joined by his wife and two cats. He also loves walking, camping, eating, ‘Dad’ jokes, 70’s music and playing his guitar ‘badly’.
