Each year, we love to gift our employees some festive chocolate treats. This year, we’re especially excited because we’ve taken a step towards being more environmentally friendly.
We were delighted to learn that Cadburys are trialling new recyclable paper tubs for their Heroes chocolates this Christmas, replacing the old plastic ones to reduce plastic waste.
With only 300,000 of these innovative tubs made and available exclusively at Tesco, we immediately saw an opportunity to support this initiative. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our Procurement Manager, Michelle Freeman, MCIPS, and our local Tesco stores, we were able to secure 800 of these eco-friendly tubs for all Borough Care employees!
This week, members of our Executive Leadership Team have been out and about, making their festive visits to each of our homes, popping into Christmas parties to share festive wishes with our residents and personally deliver these special chocolate boxes to our dedicated teams.
A huge thank you to Michelle for her hard work in making this happen! We’re proud to celebrate the holidays with a little less plastic and a lot more joy!
