Borough Care – Comfort To Share

Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting Macclesfield Hospital to deliver the very first donations for our ‘Borough Care – Comfort to Share’ campaign.

The initiative

This initiative has been made possible by the generosity of the residents at Hen Cloud House in Leek, who thoughtfully put together essential toiletry packs for patients admitted to hospital at short notice. After learning that ward staff often cover the cost of these everyday necessities themselves, we were inspired to launch this campaign to offer our support.

A special moment

A truly special moment was sharing the visit with Margaret, one of our residents of Hen Cloud House, who, as a former theatre nurse was delighted to come along and give something back to a profession that meant so much to her.

Help us to continue to spread our support

To help us continue spreading a little comfort when it’s needed most, we are appealing for donations of new and unused toiletry items, such as:

  • 🧼 Soap
  • 🪥 Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • 💄 Lip balm
  • 🧴 Moisturise
  • 🧻 Face wipes
  • 🩸 Sanitary products

…and other everyday essentials.

The Comfort to Share campaign also extends to our Shoemaker Place home in Stone, where residents have been collating items ready to deliver to the Royal Stoke Hospital.

If you’d like to support this campaign or find out more, please feel free to get in touch by emailing our Customer Relationship Manager, SHARON PARKES: sharon.parkes@boroughcare.org.uk
