What is Veteran Friendly Framework

The Veteran Friendly Framework is a nationally recognised program designed to ensure that healthcare and social care providers are equipped to understand the unique needs of veterans and their families. The framework aims to improve the health and wellbeing of the Armed Forces community by promoting best practices in care delivery. For care homes like ours achieving this accreditation means that our teams understand the specific challenges and experiences that veterans may face, including physical and mental health conditions, social isolation and the impact military service can have on later life. This includes an awareness of conditions such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, hearing loss and other service-related injuries, as well as an understanding of military culture.

The accreditations are incredibly important for Borough Care as they demonstrate our dedication to providing person-centred care that recognises and respects the diverse backgrounds of all our residents.
