Staff and residents from Marbury House have been on the receiving end of a very special, Royal thank you card.
Following a craft activity, which saw residents create a card to celebrate the arrival of TRH the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new baby boy, Archie, our staff posted the card to Buckingham Palace in the hope of it reaching Prince Harry and Meghan.
Imagine our surprise and delight when a few weeks later, Marbury received their own very special card in the post. A thank you note from the busy, brand-new parents, telling our residents how much they appreciated the kind gesture at this joyful time of their lives.
Julie Veritiero, Manager of Marbury House said: “Our residents love any excuse to get creative. As we saw during the craft activities we ran for National Care Home Open Day, it really helps our residents’ mental wellbeing and their dexterity. Borough Care have been the recipients of a few 100th birthday cards from the Palace before, but we’ve never been lucky enough to receive a card like this. To say the residents and staff were thrilled is an understatement!”
If you’re visiting Marbury House, the card is available to view at the office.
