Bryn Haven’s Special Visit from Greater Manchester Police!

Bryn Haven is our specialist care home in Brinnington that offers high-quality dementia care. The home recently introduced The Wishing Washing Line, which is a wonderful opportunity for residents to write down something they would like to do in the home. Where possible, the Bryn Haven team will work to make the wish come true. One resident, Fran Berriff, recently watched as some local Police on horseback trotted past her window at Bryn Haven, so when it came to her wish, she said she’d like to meet some police and their horses! ALF Rosie set about making Fran’s wish come true, and got in contact with Greater Manchester Police.

Fran with GMP Mascot Pippa the Panda, and with the horse.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were delighted to assist with fulfilling Fran’s wish, and arranged to pay a visit to Bryn Haven with their horses in tow, alongside some Police Community Support Officers who also attended! Police Community Support Officers are an important part of the ‘policing family’ and are out in the community every day.

Both Fran and her fellow residents had an amazing day and made sure all of the Police men and women, and Police Community Support Officers got a hug! The Police said it was lovely to be welcomed with big smiles and open arms into the home, as is not always the case for them. Rosie, Amanda, Fran and the whole Bryn Haven team would like to say a huge thank you to GMP for taking some time out of their busy day to make Fran’s wish come true, and said that they hope they will come back again for another visit.
