My role is Senior Carer. I ensure the wellbeing of residents living with Dementia, making sure they are assisted with washing, dressing, and that they are comfortable. Each individual is treated with the utmost dignity and respect and we help to make every day the best it can be.
In October 2020, I started working on the Community Catalysts joint project with Borough Care. Borough Care has become the country’s largest residential care provider to receive a real living wage accreditation from the Real Living Wage Foundation, as part of its commitment to delivering a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
Borough Care has partnered with charity Vegetarian for Life to expand its culinary offer for residents across its 12 homes. The partnership comes after research conducted by Borough Care amongst its residents revealed that many preferred to choose vegetarian options at mealtimes.
Last year, we worked with social enterprise Community Catalysts, to create a new way for residents and their families to give feedback on our services, providing them with opportunity to be directly involved in shaping the care offered by Borough Care in the future.
