Looking back at 2022 with Meadway Court

Meadway Court’s residents have had a fun-filled year – thank you to everyone at the home for giving residents so many opportunities to live Life in Colour this year. Let’s take a look back at some of Meadway’s best bits of 2022!…

Meadway Court residents had a wonderful time at their afternoon tea party in January.  The catering team went all out putting together the spread – it went down a treat!

In February, Meadway Court staff and residents had a bit of boogie. It took a bit of encouragement from the staff to get the residents up on their feet, but once they started, they didn’t want to stop. We loved seeing some of their best dance moves!

All of our homes celebrated Mother’s Day in their own special way in March. At Meadway, residents enjoyed exchanging gifts before sitting down to a beautiful buffet by our fantastic catering team. The staff really went all out for the occasion, and it looks like everyone had a fantastic time!

Our care homes went all out to celebrate her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Everything from luxury buffets to garden parties were in full swing across our homes to mark the very special occasion. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend at Borough Care. Staff and residents enjoyed an afternoon tea party with plenty of refreshments. Chef Joanna even made some beautiful chocolate cupcakes too! The residents got into the celebratory spirit by putting on some of their favourite songs and waving their flags. It looks like they had an amazing time!

In July, Meadway Court residents paid a visit to Knowsley Safari Park with their friends at Lisburne Court. ALFs from both homes planned the trip together and the residents enjoyed meeting some new faces and seeing all of the exciting wild animals.

There was plenty to celebrate at Meadway Court in June as they marked a very special 61st wedding anniversary. Staff arranged a lovely Afternoon Tea Party for residents and their families too. They all had the most fantastic time.

Also in June, staff and residents celebrated Pride Month with a fantastic fun-filled party in the home.

In August, residents paid a visit to Southport where they enjoyed fish and chips, ice cream and soaking in the lovely sea air!

October saw Borough Care celebrate our Life in Colour Employee Awards. We all got together at the Alma Lodge Hotel in Stockport for a huge awards ceremony in celebration of the incredible work that our team have all done over the last year. Heather-Jayne White, Care Assistant at Meadway was a winner of an Outstanding Colourful Care Award for always providing exceptional individualised care and making our residents smile the most!

In November Meadway Court residents and staff had a lovely evening on Bonfire Night. They wrapped up warm to watch the fireworks and had fun with some sparklers before coming back inside to enjoy a hot chocolate and delicious sweet treats together.
