Supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual World’s Biggest Coffee Morning has become somewhat of a tradition for us at Borough Care.
Taking place on 27th September this year, people all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. A Macmillan Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause. Cancer is an issue that will have touched us all. The money raised helps Macmillan support everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can. In 2018 they raised an incredible £26,914,382 and are aiming to help them top that this year.
Our Head Office particularly got into the spirit, baking some amazing cakes, and coming to work with a very large appetite and very deep pockets; raising over £100 in a single morning.
Borough Care Catering Manager, Mark Dale said: “It was wonderful to be the one sampling the delights of other people’s baking, whereas usually, my day job means I’m the one designing the menus! What made the cakes taste even more delicious, was knowing that my contribution will go towards helping the lives of those living with cancer that a little bit easier.”
Many of our homes got involved too, hosting Coffee Mornings across Stockport, and we’re still totting up all the dough-nations we received. We’re so pleased that our staff came together to support this cause and it is wonderful to know that every penny will go towards supporting people living with cancer.
