Bruce Lodge is a modern two-storey building with secluded landscaped gardens offering pleasant views from their outdoor balcony, overlooking Woodbank Memorial Park and Vernon Park in Offerton.

The recently refurbished home is a purpose-built dementia care home with wide corridors and a light and airy environment. Structured around clusters of small households, and staffed with carers who have extensive knowledge of personalised care, it is ideally suited to those living with dementia.

The home has transformed its central atrium area into a bustling Market Place, complete with a 1950’s style café, florist, post office, hat shop and even a telephone box! Memorabilia, in keeping with the vintage spirit, adorns the area creating a warm and welcoming space for residents and their families to meet up or relax.

“The coffee shop in the market place is definitely the hub where our residents sit and spend most of their time enjoying a coffee, cake and lots of nattering!” – Rosaleen Charles, Manager

All of our homes benefit from a dedicated Activity and Lifestyle Facilitator, affectionately known as ALF’s. They are responsible for delivering a varied and engaging daily programme of events, excursions and activities for all our residents. Find out more here.

I have worked for Borough Care since 1989 and I am passionate about my job. Every day is different, and the residents’ keep me on my toes. I’m an avid baker so you’ll often find me in our café chatting with the residents and sharing our baking secrets over cake!

I was particularly keen for my Mother to come to Bruce Lodge as her twin sister already resided there. The Staff ensure my mother and her sister can be together for meals or in communal seating areas and to have time apart if they have spent enough time with each other. The meals are of a good quality, offering a wide variety of different foods and residents are offered drinks throughout the day. The home is clean and tidy, and each room has an ensuite wet room. There are a good variety of activities to keep the residents occupied and interested. The home is purpose-built, furnished and decorated to a high standard.
