We’ve embarked on an exciting project to create a new way for you, and your loved ones, to tell us how you feel about our services and what we can do to make them better.
We’re committed to our ethos of ‘Life in Colour’ which means doing everything we can to make sure that each and every resident is able to live in a way, which reflects who they are; their unique experiences; their abilities; and their hopes and dreams.
We will be working with social enterprise, Community Catalysts, on this ground-breaking and innovative project. The initiative is the first of its kind for social care in the UK, but by working with an experienced partner, we are able to build on similar schemes in the NHS, social housing and other services.
This project was initially due to launch face-to-face earlier this year but was put on hold through lockdown. Throughout these challenging few months, we’ve been amazed at how you and your loved ones have got to grips with new technology and have engaged with us to tell us what you think, what you love and what you would like to see more of. We don’t want to delay this exciting new approach any longer, so we’ve decided to launch using digital tools and virtual communication methods instead.
A brand-new role is now available for someone with a deep connection to dementia, care and ageing and looking to make a difference. They’ll be supported and trained so that they can work closely with residents, and with you, to develop ideas and suggestions as well as giving feedback on what we do now, and what we should do in future. If this sounds like an opportunity you would be interested in, or you know the perfect person for the job, please share this link with them.
We want to give all our residents, including those who find it difficult to communicate, a voice that is heard. We want to give you an opportunity to tell us how we’re doing. We want to honour our commitment as a not for profit organisation to invest in our future, in our residents and provide employment opportunities in our local communities.
We will keep you updated as this exciting project develops.
