On the 6th February this year, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. The Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
To celebrate such a huge anniversary, lots of events are taking place over this week’s four day bank holiday weekend, and Borough Care is no exception! Lots of residents living in our homes remember the Queen’s coronation all the way back in 1953 and have celebrated her Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees. For the last few weeks, they have been decorating their homes in excited anticipation for this historic event.
Borough Care believes everyone should be encouraged and supported to live their best possible life, whatever their age, health or capabilities. Instead of settling into a grey existence, we choose to live life in colour. Our 12 care homes in Stockport and Staffordshire have been readying themselves for one our biggest examples of ‘Life in Colour’ yet!
Our catering team developed a British-picnic themed picnic menu for all residents, their loved-ones and Borough Care staff to enjoy on Friday June 3rd. The menu features a Queens Sunrise Breakfast, Picnic In The Park, Afternoon Tea and a thoughtfully-prepared evening meal of Coronation Chicken.
While COVID has not disappeared, and the safety of our residents remains our top priority, we are thrilled to be able to come together this weekend for such a special celebration. From picnics to entertainment to afternoon tea, each care home has a weekend full of fun lined up to ensure our residents have a fantastic time.
