Pancake Day’s A ‘Flipping’ Success

Borough Care residents and staff marked Shrove Tuesday with lots of pancake fun.  The catering staff at each of Borough Care’s eleven homes in Stockport put on pancake themed events for residents to enjoy.

Residents at Bamford Close, in Cale Green, were treated to pancakes from around the world.  Finnish, Scottish, German and French pancakes were freshly made for residents to try.  At Borough Care’s Reinbek home, situated in the heart of Davenport, the head cook, Karen Mediavillo, made an eye-catching pancake feast.  Karen’s stacked pancakes, topped with fresh fruit, made a big impression on residents.

Over at Bryn Haven, in the Brinnington area of Stockport, cook Caroline Doherty really mastered her pancake tossing technique, with all the residents quick to eat her sweet treats.  Catering teams at Meadway Court in Bramhall and Lisburne Court in Offerton also got in on the pancake tossing action, with many pancakes flipped into the air to mark Shrove Tuesday.

Borough Care, hosts a number of food related celebrations throughout the year, to coincide with special occasions.  The food related events are part of a regular programme of activities Borough Care puts on for its residents to enjoy.
