Love was in the air this Valentine’s Day for Borough Care residents and their partners. Each of Borough Care’s homes hosted a three course lunch or dinner, which was enjoyed by residents and their partners. For the special meal, the dining areas were beautifully decorated with hearts and red flowers.
Residents and their guests tucked into homemade mushroom soup, followed by a choice of roast beef with all the trimmings, chicken and ham pie or cauliflower cheese. For dessert, chocolate chip pudding with salted caramel sauce or apple crumble with custard were enjoyed.
Borough Care’s Wellcroft home in Gatley hosted a Valentine’s Day afternoon tea. Joanne Sherratt, Activity Lifestyle Facilitator at Wellcroft, worked with the home’s Head Cook, Lydia McDowell to put together a special afternoon tea menu. Lydia created a number of special treats, including heart shaped biscuits and chocolate dipped strawberries.
Mark Dale, Catering & Hospitality Manager at Borough Care, says: “Our special Valentine’s Day menu went down really well and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was lovely that partners of some of our residents were able to come along so they could spend the day together.”
