Marbury House is a two-storey, specialised Active Recovery residential care home, offering short-term care for those needing support to get back on their feet following hospital treatment.

Situated on the Marbury Estate in Heaton Chapel, the home provides accommodation and care for up to 41 people requiring varying degrees of rehabilitation support.

Active Recovery at Marbury House is provided under contract with the local health authority and social care commissioners. Admissions for Active Recovery are arranged through the multi-disciplinary intermediate care teams.

Facilities include pleasant outdoor seating, warm communal lounges and dining areas, as well as a handy mobile shop, alongside specialised rehabilitation and physio equipment.

All of our homes benefit from a dedicated Activity and Lifestyle Facilitator, affectionately known as ALF’s. They are responsible for delivering a varied and engaging daily programme of events, excursions and activities for all our residents. Find out more here.

I’ve worked in the care sector for my entire career. It’s my passion and I started as soon as I left school! While working at Age Concern, I completed my BTec National Diploma in Health & Social Care, after which I specialised in care at home for older people. Nothing gives me greater joy than helping rehabilitate older people so they can be happy and safe in their homes once again. When not working, I love to spend time with my children Molly and Grace

My wife was admitted to Marbury House following 5 weeks in Stepping Hill suffering a severe heart failure and pneumonia. The care regime put in place by the social welfare and physiotherapy staff saw a remarkable recovery in a fairly short period of time. I have nothing but praise for all the staff in every respect

George, husband of resident

The care I received was excellent from day and night staff. The men and woman were so nice, I couldn't fault anyone. Those who looked after me from nurses, physio, cleaners and kitchen staff to the ladies who gave me medication, helped in the dining room and the ladies in the office; everyone deserves praise. The home should get an award, so a big thank you.
