Across England, Skills for Care I Care…Ambassadors are helping people to make informed decisions about their careers.
Ambassadors are care workers who inspire and motivate people to understand more about working in social care. What makes them so special is that they’ve been there and have experience in the job they’re promoting.
Borough Care knows how important it is that future generations are choosing a career in care so that we can sustain the high standards our residents receive.
One of our I Care Ambassadors, Joanne Sherratt, Activity and Lifestyle Facilitator at Wellcroft recently attended the Skills North West show at Event City in Manchester. The show brings young people from the Greater Manchester area face-to- face with employers, training providers, colleges, universities and professional bodies.
Joanne was a fantastic ambassador for Borough Care explaining her role to students, teachers and careers advisors. We hope the enthusiasm and passion of people like Joanne will convince the younger generation that a career in care can be rewarding and fulfilling, creating a pool of much needed carers for the future.
