Today is International Day of Happiness. This year’s theme is ‘Happier Together’, reminding us that lasting happiness comes from feeling connected to others and being part of something bigger.
To mark this joyful day, our residents told us what makes them happy.
Alice, who lives at Wellcroft said, “Happiness is making it to my 100th birthday today, receiving a card from the King, and being able to have a lie-in in the mornings!” Happy Birthday Alice!
Eileen said “Being able to live out my golden years together with my husband Carl at Shoemaker Place is true happiness for me.” The lovely couple have been married for 63 years 💜
Les from Silverdale said, “I am happiest when I am surrounded by people who enjoy a good chat and a laugh. I love watching films on Netflix and especially sport!”
The lovely Jean said ‘Happiness is a cup of tea – it’s like a hug in a mug!” Cawood Manager Lisa makes an excellent cup of tea, so we couldn’t agree more!
Margaret said, “Meeting with my friends and family and spending time together. Another thing that makes me happy is my pamper days at Hen Cloud House. I love having my nail varnish done.”
Lesley said, “Living here at Reinbek makes me happy, because all of the people here make me smile, and everyone who comes into our home is so friendly.”
Deputy Manager, Leanne asked Cawood House resident, June what happiness is. June responded, “Happiness is seeing you smile.” 🥰
Rita from Reinbek said the thing that makes her most happy is “Listening to music, with all of us sat around the table here eating food and just chatting.”
Thank you to our ALFs and Deputies for speaking with our residents on International Day of Happiness 💖
